NOTICE: Starting the first part of September, Aiken County is transitioning to a new online property tax payment portal that can be accessed through the County’s website, www.aikencountysc.gov.
The County’s transition to this new portal, a specialized online and mobile technology solution, will provide citizens a convenient and more secure payment option which is powered by PayPal.
In today’s world of increased technology use and identity theft, our first priority is to provide secure methods of payment. In addition to increased security, the new portal will allow taxpayers online access to their information – bills, statements, applications, and other records – at any time. Citizens can use the site to access customer bills and information, and to make mobile or web payments anytime, anywhere using debit cards, credit cards, ACH, PayPal, or PayPal credit. The portal also comes equipped with E-check verification, which will insure routing and account numbers are correct, thus reducing the number of returned online payments.
The new portal allows taxpayers to print tax receipts or bills, use a QR code to scan a payment, sign up for E-billing and also have their email address or phone number linked directly to a record to view or pay taxes. An additional feature is the ability to set up payment plans for your property taxes using PayPal credit, if desired.
The new portal provider is already utilized in 12 other states, as well as over 30 other counties and municipalities in South Carolina.
* For vehicles, if address change needed, please go to scdmvonline.com and make address change BEFORE making payment.
Aiken County property owners may pay vehicle and property taxes online. * You must allow two business days for posting to the Aiken County tax system.
Payments for delinquent property taxes must be made directly to the Delinquent Tax Collector's office, and can be made by cash, cashier's check, money order, or credit card. A credit card convenience fee will apply when paying with a credit/debit card.
