The "Dairies of Aiken County Exhibit" will continue through October at the Aiken County Historical Museum.
Remember those days when milk was delivered right to your door? Come visit the Museum and learn more about the people and the dairies that served this area. A highlight of the exhibit is the "new" Haskell's Dairy rhyme written by the Yurcan family of Aiken.
Bryan, Amy & Olive participated in "Milk & Cookies" day here at the Museum in August and the Honorable Sandy & Dr. Joyce Haskell (Sandy serves as a County Councilman and is a descendant of the Haskell Family) selected their rhyme to be printed on the "bottle" that is in the exhibit.
The "newest" Haskell rhyme? "Grandma's waffles are so fluffy and sweet, that we call her the breakfast fairy. But her morning meal isn't half as good, without milk from Haskell's Dairy!" Thanks to all who participated and to our sponsors, Cracker Barrel of Aiken and Moe's of Aiken. Special thanks to Bill Baab, Charles Hilton and Bob Riddick for their assistance with this exhibit.
The Museum is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and on Sundays from 2:00-5:00.
