It is the desire of Aiken County Council to provide reasonable and timely access to financial information of Aiken County. In fact, review and access to the government’s financial data is a hallmark of transparency and accountability. The ability of the public to view important financial information online is one key way to accomplish this goal. The posting of specific information pertaining to the financial activity of Aiken County will provide interested citizens with the necessary access to important information.
To provide for the necessary financial transparency and accountability of Aiken County the following information has been made available:All Accounts Payable (AP) transactions All transactions conducted with purchasing/credit card Chart of Accounts for use in identifying the type of transaction
This information will be updated on at least a monthly basis or more frequently if possible. Additionally, the most recent audited financial statement as well as the most recent fiscal year budget are available. Information that will not be posted includes that which is protected under the South Carolina Freedom of Information Act or statutes such as the Privacy Act. This includes specific payroll information for County employees, information pertaining to transactions specifically excluded for economic development activities and information protected by attorney/client privilege.
